Whitehart theme
Home | AMO

As some of you might already know I'm now maintaining the Whitehart theme for Firefox as Anders Conbere couldn't do it anymore and nobody offered to update it for the Firefox 2.0 release. I will be working on it from now on and until time allows me. As I'm a user of it chances are high that I will be working on this for some time unless I move to another browser or dimension. Razz

The current official release is 2.5 at AMO (backup site).
There is no beta version.

I encourage people to help with the development process by giving ideas, hunting bugs and making any kind of useful comments. Take in account I will not always follow your ideas or will agree with your comments. That is bound to happen but I will try to understand most needs and find a way to satisfy them.

When you post about a problem please include as much info as you can (extensions sometimes modify Firefox appearance) and a screen shoot will always help a lot. I would understand better the bug, be able to reproduce it and fix it.

These are the remaining KNOWN issues:
* Selected tab border radius is distorted when you open multiple tabs (enough of them for scroll buttons to appear)

After acquiring some experience with the Firefox theme I decided I would do the matching Thunderbird theme that was something I wanted for quite some time already. From my point of view it was 100% complete so I submitted version 1.0 to AMO. Following versions improved some icons and included some bugfixes. Version 2.x added compatibility with Thunderbird 2.

The current official release is 2.2 at AMO (backup site).
There is no beta version.

Did that also happen with 2.0 and previous (interim) releases?

2.0 is Great Work!

I suggest that I use an image.
/* browser.css */
.tabbrowser-tabs {
background: #DDD url("chrome://global/skin/browser/hz-border-line.gif") repeat-x top left;
padding-top: 0px;
}

hz-border-line.gif is the Image file that size is 120x1 pixels.

Oh, even flyson is now here. O_O

Well, the issue is with TMP resizing of tabs (maybe even Firefox own as well) when you reach the right margin. If you set both pixel limits to the same number the tabs don't look with that issue. I think that's normal resizing of tabs. Don't know if that feature is internal of FFX or implemented by TMP but I won't go into that.

flyson proposal might fix the issue with the missing dot but the radius issue is still there, right?

EDIT:
No, he also fixed the issue with the top border when not using TMP. O_O
Now I love you... how couldn't I think of that. Razz
And the radius issue is a FFX thing it seems. We might need to use an image as border instead?

I was not able to solve a problem of a border radius, too.

A test of image border.

That doesn't work with TMP, but I will see if I can get it working with it.

Just as a teaser as I have a lot of work to do into the icon area. I might need some help from someone skilled at that. Razz

TMP Option Dialog reads the css file that doesn't exist. Sad

OK, I'm a little confused. Did I read above that the there is a fix for the lack of a line on the top of the tab bar now? Where is the link to that version?

Was that bug within the tabbar ever resolved?

the one with the line at the upper right corner of the bar? (underneath the search bar)?

I think so. I hope to post 2.0.2 this weekend.
I need time to check flyson's last test to fix the resizing selected tab issue within FFX reported in this thread (not that I care much about it), and maybe modify it for the current set of features (like darker background). I'm investing most of my time this week in advancing on the TB theme.

Well, as promised, first post has:

- Link to home page so I have a place where to put versions and some info. It's simple and I won't spend time making it pretty. If you want to provide a nice design you will be welcomed (just PM me).

- Version 2.0.2 with a couple more fixes. I left out flyson try to fix the radius issue as it broke a lot of other things. When I have time and will to strip the borders only I will do another try but I don't consider this a big issue.

- Version 0.0.2 of the Thunderbird theme. From my point of view is 100% complete. Of course I can improve some icons and most probably have to fix some bugs, but that will depend on the feedback I get for it. What I need from you is:

- Identify bugs or missing features
- Identify things that are not in relation to Firefox theme
- Recommend better concepts for icons
- Any other kind of useful comment, as always, will be welcomed

Now to have some leisure. Very Happy
