Thank heavens Whitehart is still available. Once Anders bowed out, I was afraid I'd have to use Firefox 1.5 forever! 1x10^6 thanks for the updates!

A couple of thoughts:

(1) With Tab Mix Plus and the tab bar at the bottom (as God intended), I'm a little less pleased with the visual effect in 2.1:

than with the older versions under Firefox 1.5:

(2) I love the new customizations, particularly getting rid of the annoying "search" icon. Could there be an option to similarly opt-out of the silly "go" icon?

(3) While I don't like those two icons, I do like the rounded ends they give the location and search boxes. The "Rounded Input Boxes" option, though, is too strongly rounded and shadowed for my taste; makes the boxes look too small. Could an alternate option be to have flat input boxes with rounded corners (on both ends) without having the icons?

Thanks for listening!

(1) you mean you like that ugly separator line and box?

(2) browse to about:config and set browser.urlbar.hideGoButton to true (double click on that line)

(3) have to try it but don't think is that worthy. And it's a lot of work as we can have many options. It would work if there was only one style for the bar but not when you can set or not the go and search button.

Not saying it couldn't be improved (maybe a more subtle line?), but I like it for two reasons: (1) It clearly defines the bottom of the page/top of the tab; the current tab looks fine with a light-colored page but on a dark-background page (as above) looks a little as if it's edging into the page itself. (2) The background tabs look more like tabs, rather than blending into the bottom frame of the window.

Well, I don't know how to differentiate the tab bar when it's set to the bottom. Sad

Updated first post with new beta versions for both themes.

Is there any way to make the toolbar icons smaller as shown in the preview?

Over the toolbar you click the mouse right button and select customize, then click over Use small icons.

Hi

(First - an apology - I could not log into this forum with my normal logon, so I posted my comments on the Whitehart TB page. https://addons.mozilla.org/thunderbird/3791/. with the identifier 'occam')

- When I added the 'Webmail' extension to Thunderbird, I spent lots of time trying to verify that it was working correctly. Why? I could not find the 'options' button, under the Whitehart theme (Tools > Extensions> ), while it is there in the default TB theme. It was not until I uninstalled Whitehart that the penny dropped.

(I understand that the 'option' button is redundant - that 'right click' on the add-on will give you this - but there is a comforting feeling when a Theme has every button the default theme has. That it is not a missing (overlooked) feature on the Theme.)

- A second request - When I am browsing newsgroups, I look at the message highlighted and follow it through to the newsgroup in the left hand pane - for orientation. This is currently not highlighted under Whitehart. e.g. 'mozilla.support.thunderbird' highlighted at the same time as the selected message.

(I know the information is at the top of the window, but, again, this is not the same. The eye has to move up to see which of the many newsgroups I'm in right now.)

Apart from these little niggles, I like the theme a lot. It appeals to my minimalist taste, without the many candy-coloured buttons of most themes.

Well, you will have both things as an option like with Firefox theme (Themes->About).

I just put the 1.1.1 beta release with these changes:

FEATURE: added customization options in Themes->About like with Firefox theme
FEATURE: added customization for Lightning (calendar) addon
BUGFIX: minor fixes

Let me know if it works for you. Wink

Updated site with new releases (version 2.2 for Firefox and version 1.2 for Thunderbird), and I hope these are the last ones for this year. Razz

Don't know... I really don't remember how it was and if it is too much work to do it.
Can you link me the last released version of it?

Well, I added the option to the development version 2.2.1 (you can get it from my site posted in the first post), so please let me know if everything works like it should.

Regards.
